Frequently asked questions

Do I need a physician’s referral?

No - a physician’s referral is not needed to schedule an occupational therapy evaluation or to begin treatment. If you are wanting to submit a superbill for reimbursement as an out-of-network provider through your insurance plan, a referral may be necessary.

How often will my child need to come for therapy?

The frequency of therapy visits varies. At Nurture Pediatric Occupational Therapy, we consider ourselves to be a lifestyle practice. We work with our families to create a plan that meets the needs of the child and the family’s availability and/or preferences. Progress in therapy is dependent on many factors which will be discussed following the initial occupational therapy evaluation.

Where will therapy take place?

Clinic visits will take place at 105 Francis Street in Russia, Ohio. We also offer occupational therapy services at Smart Play Therapy in Maria Stein, Ohio. Please reach out to Kelly Nieberding at Smart Play Therapy for additional information. All clinic visits are by appointment only.

In-home and community-based visits can be requested for an additional fee. Visits are dependent on location and therapist availability.

Do you accept insurance?

No, we do not accept insurance. We are a cash-based service provider and accept cash, check, credit/debit card, and FSA/HSA cards. If you are interested in submitting self-claims to your insurance provider, we can provide you with a superbill upon your request. Nurture Pediatric Occupational Therapy does not contact insurance companies and payment is due at the time of service.
